Aming Hamon Bigyang Tugon! – Kalikasan, Kasarian, Katutubo at Bayan, SC chairman Jose Carpio III called on the new Iskolar ng Bayan to take part in challenging the Aquino administration to live up to the expectations of the people. “Utusan natin si Noynoy na magtimpla ng magandang kinabukasan,” Carpio said. The Freshie Consolidation night is the culminating activity of the Freshie week, an annual event the UPB student council created in 2008 to introduce the new students to the peculiarities of life in the university through various activities. Freshie Desk head Isaac Galang was relieved that despite failure to accommodate the entire attendance the program went on smoothly and said that future events shall shape up. “Asahan po ng mga Freshies na ating itutuloy at mas pagagagandahin pa ang susunod na events para sa kagalingan ng sangkaestudyantehan,” Galang said. Winners of the Eco-bag Painting contest, Quizbee, and Three Best Wishes for President Aquino held last week were recognized in the program. The night saw numbers from TABAK, PAGTA, Shadows, UP Dance Troupe, Danceworks, Tayaw, SET-UP, and Tinig Amianan. The program ended with a blessing from the SC which involved showering the participants with a powdery substance and draining a round of rice wine.
